Another year has past and its time for the World Ski & Snowboard Fest in Whistler, British Columbia.
This year I wanted to create some art directly related to life in the mountains. Living in Banff during the 13/14 season I had the pleasure of meeting back country ski touring enthusiast Marcus Baranow, author of “Confessions of a Ski Bum” his guide to Banff area’s backcountry. This past season Marcus teamed up with his friend Todd to embark on a full loop connecting Banff National Park’s Big 3 ski resorts; Sunshine, Lake Louise and Norquay through traversing backcountry routes. Collaborating with Marcus and Todd, I was was able to use Google Earth, GPS coordinates and other backcountry maps to create an artists representation of their trip.
