Sawyer Teale Ellingboe and I hiked up to Temple Lake and got a good look at the bad conditions in Aemmer Couloir.
The trail up the creek is in ok condition, once closer to the lake the snow gets deeper but the frozen tracks provide good travel. We went to the back of the lake and up the slope to sneak through to the Lake Annette side. Shin deep breakable melt freeze snow on the slope with bare patches made for fast climbing. A group of mountain goats were climbing around under Aemmer and the couloir itself looks to be mostly firn snow at this point. We found some isolated 5cm wind slab in the area.
Not enough snow in the area for skiing and hiking is now getting a little more difficult.
