The MIN from Avalanche Canada is a vital resource, and sometimes it can be tricky to know where to locate your pin drop when posting a report. I’ve decided to throw up some of the most common long/lat coordinates for places in my guidebooks to help you find the general area for your MIN.

What’s a MIN?

MIN stands for Mountain Information Network, and it lets backcountry users in Canada share what they see while in the mountains. Since this post isn’t about explaining what a MIN is, you can read all about it at https://www.avalanche.ca/mountain-information-network.

How to use the following

When posting a MIN, there is a little square map that you can zoom in on and click to show where you have been. Navigating this can sometimes be tricky, even for those who know exactly where they’ve been. Copy and paste the Longitude and Latitude from the list below into the text boxes above the map. Your pin should show up at that location. I’ll change these later to links that insert the info if I figure out how. The following information is divided based on my guidebooks, and the coordinates will be for the general area. You will need to refine it for individual runs if you want (I’ll try to add this later, though).
